I live in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California, where I spend as much time as possible on the trails. A few years ago, I discovered the world of Search and Rescue—volunteers who train relentlessly and stay perpetually on call to find lost hikers, rescue stranded climbers, and bring people home. No paycheck, no glory. Just showing up for strangers because someone has to.

I became obsessed. Now I write about them.

The Crystal Lake Search & Rescue series follows the men and women who run toward danger—and the messy, complicated love stories that happen in between rescues. I hope you love this world as much as I do.
