Kat Wilder grew up in California, where wildfire season meant smoky summers, red-flag warnings, and skies that sometimes turned orange. She remains fascinated by the people who dedicate their lives to understanding, predicting, and fighting wildfires.

She writes romance about passionate, driven people who throw themselves wholeheartedly into the things—and people—they love. Her stories explore obsession, resilience, danger, and the messy road to a well-earned happy ending.

When she isn’t writing, Kat can usually be found dreaming up her next slightly crazy idea, encouraged by a husband who has learned not to bat an eyelash when she announces one.
